Winning $1M Zillow Award

Graduate student Nima Shahbazi, teamed with Chahhou Mohamed of Morocco and Jordan Meyer of the United States to win the final round of the $1 million Zillow Prize contest to improve the accuracy of Zestimate, the real estate valuation estimator.

Today’s winner announcement comes nearly two years after launching the competition. In that time, the contest has become one of the most popular machine learning competitions ever on Kaggle, the platform administering the contest.

Congratulations to Nima, who recently completed a PhD under the supervision of Professor Jarek Gryz.
