Niloufar Shafiei Wins Best Paper Award
Niloufar Shafiei, a recent graduate from the Ph.D. programme in Computer Science, has won the Best Paper Award at the International Conference on Principles of Distributed Computing for her paper entitled Non-Blocking Doubly-Linked Lists with Good Amortized Complexity.
The award-winning paper summarizes some of the work Niloufar did for her doctoral dissertation at York University; it describes how to implement a fundamental data structure in a shared-memory system so that many different processes can access it concurrently and efficiently.
