Important Update for all Lassonde Undergraduate Students
Classes for Lassonde students to resume on Wednesday March 11
The Senate Executive Committee of York University has agreed this evening to a request from the Lassonde School of Engineering to resume classes for undergraduate students.
This decision means that classes for Lassonde students will start again tomorrow (Wednesday March 11).
We believe strongly that we are acting in the best interests of our students who deserve an uninterrupted professional education here at Lassonde.
Resuming classes will not be without problems and there will be a few bumps along the way. However, we will do everything we can to reduce the impact of the issues that will arise and to make the transition back to classes as smooth as possible.
There are three things you should do right away.
1. Check the revised class schedule for Wednesday March 11.
Check the schedule of classes that are taking place tomorrow. We are proceeding with as many as possible, however some will be postponed.
2. Read the Q&A.
Read the questions and answers. These are based on the questions I have received from many of you via email or at our town hall meeting today. These should be informative and will answer many of your concerns I hope. Please don’t hesitate to contact me or the Student Welcome and Support Centre if you have follow-up questions or particular circumstances where you need advice.
3. Plan a safe journey to campus.
Those of you who commute to campus should plan your journey carefully leaving plenty of time. Please consult this webpage provided by York University that will provide all the latest updated and relevant travel information you will need.
We are determined to return to normal as soon as we can. That will require a great deal of patience from you and I want to sincerely thank you in advance for your support.
