Borealis AI appoints York’s Marcus Brubaker
Borealis AI has appointed Prof. Marcus Brubaker as a Research Director, joining a team of researcher directors from institutions such as the University of Waterloo, Washington State University, and Simon Fraser University. Borealis AI is an RBC Institute for Research and carries out fundamental and applied research in AI, including areas such as machine learning, computer vision, reinforcement learning and natural language processing.
Marcus was drawn to the lab’s support of open academic collaborations with leading research centres across the country and its focus on ethical AI across a diverse spectrum of fields, such as finance, environmental science and transportation. He will lead the fundamental research team in the Toronto lab, where he will also continue to pursue his own work.
