The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Lassonde School of Engineering, is one of the leading academic research departments in Canada. We offer a range of undergraduate and graduate programs: the BA, BSc and iBSc in Computer Science, the BA and BSc in Computer Security, the BA in Digital Media, the BEng in Computer Engineering, the BEng in Electrical Engineering, and the BEng in Software Engineering, as well as MSc program in Computer Science, MASc program in Electrical and Computer Engineering, and PhD program in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
Honours BA and BSc programs are accredited by the Computer Science Accreditation Council. The BEng in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering and Computer Engineering are all accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board.
Specialisation in a second area in either the BA or the BSc is highly encouraged. In addition we encourage an international experience through summer schools and semesters abroad. We aim to educate a well-rounded individual able to contribute much more than a narrow technical expertise.
Our graduate programs are research based, thriving on the broad range of active research conducted by faculty members in the Department. Key strengths include computer vision, robotics and artificial intelligence, computer networks, theoretical computer science, database systems, human computer interaction, and software engineering. With over 50 research faculty and over 100 graduate students and research staff the Department fosters a dynamic research environment.
